SAFETY ALERT: Raelis brand preservative-free saline solution

The Dry Eye Foundation is warning consumers against the following product for any contact lens use:

Raelis brand preservative-free contact lens solution

Reasons for concern:

  1. NO COMPANY IDENTIFIED. The box does not state where the product is made, or the name and contact information of the company distributing it, or who to contact if there are any problems.

  2. NOT STERILE. This product does not claim to be sterile, yet is marketed for use in the eyes (among other indications).

  3. NOT REGISTERED WITH FDA: Raelis saline does not have a 510k device registration with the FDA, a requirement for all sterile contact lens solutions.
